I am not going to lie to you…I know nothing about girls. I mean that girls are complicated…and what you might understand about them in one moment, that glimpse into their psyche…the apparent epiphany, will not track in the next moment. It’s very confusing and not supposed to make sense, but we are expected to understand? Really it’s better not to think about it…NO REALLY, IT’S BETTER NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT. I confess that I still make mistakes with the girls in my life, I must…I am reminded about them all the time…I mean, well not exactly…it’s not so much what’s said, but what’s not said…never mind, I’ve said too much already. Listen…the thing is, just be cautious and for the record and so we are perfectly clear…it doesn’t matter what you do or what you say…for the most part you are doomed to mess it up, because apparently men are from Mars, women are from Venus? Yah…I don’t know what that means…sorry, wish I had more but that’s all I got…and for the love of god, do not tell your mother about this conversation.
My son…of course if we have done our job well and with the proper care, attention and nurturing you will become an individual of purpose, self awareness and self assuredness…a being that is fully sentient of his own worth and world – strong, confident and intelligent. You will understand that treating girls with respect and gentleness, listening with kindness and attention, engaging with compassion and tolerance, and behaving with honor and thoughtfulness are all the tools you will ever need to understand girls.
