Giggles and laughs abound…one after the other they pile on eager to be lifted up…excited to experience the world from a different perspective. I struggle to lift them all, but my determination wills them up…eyes go wide, laughter nervously ramps higher and I can feel them hold tighter to each other and to me…and for as long as I can, I hold them up and relish in this heavy lifting. We forget sometimes how important it is…lifting people up when the opportunity presents itself…we forget how good it feels, and how much good it can do. This moment resonates for me…though as much in metaphor as in real life…it reminds me that those of us with the strength and volition, have a duty and responsibility to do the heavy lifting – and lift other souls up every opportunity we get.
