Sometimes it’s convenient to see an airplane in the night sky and pretend it’s a shooting star…and make a wish…if only because in that moment we could really use one. Sitting and looking out over the city lights as we begin our ascent I can’t help but wonder if this vessel in the star filled darkness will be someone’s wish…as misplaced as it might be, it may just be enough to inspire some hope that anything can happen…that in a single act of desperate expectation rewrite whatever needs to be undone. I think we have all had those moments…when we are clinging to every human fiber of our existence to get through the next few seconds, minutes or hours…because sometimes just getting through that moment is everything. The plane settles in somewhere between heaven and earth, moonlight cascades over the plane and all the souls inside…each of us in the hopeful eyes below…someones unsuspecting angel.
