The letter comes addressed to me and I know immediately from the return address what it is all about…and I am instantly pleased and excited…I am honored to be involved and summoned in this way.  It takes me though a couple days to process the full extent of my responsibilities, and then their weight causes me to put off dealing with the letter and its request for even a few more days…I process and reflect…and begin to form my thoughts and find a starting point to share what I know.  I have been asked to provide a reference for dear friends wishing to adopt…and I am so happy to be asked and to provide the adoption agency with what I am sure they already know…these two incredible people will be loving, nurturing and fantastic parents.  But I understand the questionnaire provided with the little check boxes and woeful amount of space for written responses to mean so much more than it’s three pages could ever appreciate…this is where lives and worlds can be changed for at least three souls – and maybe more…so I add three more pages of my own and trust with all my heart that this wish for a family comes true for my wonderful friends.

I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
