I think what is most interesting about the scandal rocking the Vatican right now is not the most recent revelations of corruption and evil doings, the latest in a series of revealed damnation’s since the late 70’s, but the conduct of the whistle-blower butler Paolo Gabriele.  It seems that his alleged act of revealing the corruption, cronyism, protection of pedophiles (coverup strategy on 20 pedophile priests who abused hundreds and hundreds of children over a 35-year period in the Irish diocese of Raphoe, Co Donega), oppression of women and other rampant worldly abuses by “Gods Servants” to the free world is in fact, under Vatican Law, a criminal act that could very well have Mr. Gabriele spending the rest of his natural life in a small room with a bed and table…referred to as a ‘Safe Room’ (a laughable double entendre) given the Vatican state has no prison.  What I find so unfathomable is that these men who profess and preach a compulsory obedient and compassionate servitude to a higher power, are the most cruel and evil men on the planet…dictators and warlords of the most vile kind who appear to worship a lord of much darker origins.  It seems immediately evident to me, incredulous and comical even, that any of these Cardinal’s, Bishop’s and Pope could be any closer to ‘god’ than any of the rest of us humble human beings…their short comings so pathetically enormous and scandalous that it’s stunning to have such a place as the Vatican and Pope (who incidentally was also a Hitler Youth – WTF!?!?) and State which are allowed to continue to exist.  I am not a fire and brimstone kind of guy…but it seems to me a little cleansing through fire might be fitting…and not an unfamiliar brand of punishment for the ‘unworthy’ from this Church.  The greater act of faith and perhaps martyrdom…may very well be in the actions a butler – interesting though how that seems a little lost on everyone – I trust, save one deity.

A great brand...salesmen are little dubious though.
