This whole debate seems a little insane and ridiculous to me. How is that we can legally purchase mass manufactured liquor from every other street corner, and obtain synthetic drugs off the shelf and over the counter…but you are criminalized for consuming and possessing a naturally occurring plant? Keep in mind that I can’t even remember the last time I had a ‘hit’…probably a Halloween house party on Quadra Island about 6 years ago…and it’s not more likely I would en vibe any more if it was legally and readily available. Sure I might keep some sweet Kush or Purple Haze in the liquor cabinet, but like the 5 different bottles of aged Scotch that have been there for a few years now…it would be an occasional and savored excursion. It’s time to move past the fear and idiocy similar to the prohibition of alcohol of the 1920’s and exercise a bit more societal responsibility. Professor Jeffrey A. Miron’s Harvard Study “The Budgetary Implications of Marijuana Prohibition” (2005), states that marijuana legalization — replacing prohibition with a system of taxation and regulation — would save $7.7 billion per year in state and federal expenditures on prohibition enforcement and produce tax revenues of at least $6.2 billion annually! The Fraser Institute suggests that the annual economic activity in BC of the marijuana industry is estimated today at over $7 billion dollars! The sad reality is that to continue down a path of marijuana criminalization only magnifies and sustains the very criminal and societal elements we loath…I would suggest a much more common sense approach would be to legalize, tax and regulate marijuana…in effect wiping away these unsavory elements much the same way legalizing alcohol and gambling did in the previous century. What is absolutely evident is that current Canadian practices and policies have failed monumentally its citizens and liberties…perhaps, just maybe, it’s time to sit down with Mary Jane and figure this nonsense out.

I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
