When you look up at me I hope you see more than just my face…I hope you see the silhouettes of your future taking shape, and the adventures of your life emerging in the distance…and that what you see extends beyond what your eyes can perceive.  I trust that the opportunity of living a long and healthy life, is also filled with magic and excitement and love…that you make the most of it and survive the risks and enjoy the rewards…and find purpose and celebrate it.  It’s my wish that when needed, and sometimes just because, you will call on me to ease some burden or help resolve a crisis…or just get you home safely…or simply make sense of the days events.  I shall not live beyond you – no father should outlive his children – I make this covenant then to be a present and spirited father and friend while I am here…a promise that I hope will allow you to live the full and exciting life that stretches out now before you.  Understand that life can be a fragile thing in so many ways, not because it’s replete with hazards and tribulations, but because we are far more delicate than we want to believe…and sometimes it is only through the grace of our spirit that we endure…so be graceful.

About Lawrence Lewis

I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
