When it happens…when I have had a truly productive day…it feels good – tremendous in fact. The nature of the work that I do is a function of the people who pay me – my employers – giving me the latitude and resources to help realize the vision and mission they desire…it is also a function of me believing and embracing these same things…because honestly without this common and shared purpose I would move along to something else. It’s my expectation…what I demand of myself is that whatever the work that I do – the flow of my career – reflects and achieves at a minimum ‘good’ work that benefits people and community…and allows me to move with purpose through my day at the pace I need. So when I think about the message for my children about career and work choices…it’s to discover and embrace what you are naturally good at and continuously supplement and enhance these natural skills and abilities with training and experience and the expertise of others…and no matter where you land in that career choice, make sure that everyday the work you do is defined by the principles and purpose of your life – not the other way around.

About Lawrence Lewis
I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
