Mirror, mirror on the wall…who’s the fairest of them all?  I am not sure how to take the silence…is it an affirmation or a condemnation? Perhaps the mirror is just disinterested…the question of my worthiness begins to bubble up inside me and I falter in my desire for the answer…still, this is not how this game is supposed to be played.  I persist and ask again…still nothing and in defiance move out of my own reflection, revealing everything behind me…now in front of me.  Some things seem clearer and even moving closer, I brace – ready for it – the collision of both realities…but nothing happens and I am compelled to expect some remedy to this stalemate and enter the space again in between…I want an answer.  Then it happens…it’s their right in front of me, behind me…all around me…revealed before me in the mirror only when I was ready to see it – exactly as promised.

About Lawrence Lewis

I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
