The Malahat Nation Cultural Resource Centre is envisioned as a place for the community to learn, to teach values, re-build culture, and provide books and other educational resources. This unique facility, which is designed to bring multigenerational programming and educational opportunities to the community, will focus on literacy development and preschool programming.

In order to move the project from plan to reality, the Malahat Nation is hosting a fundraiser. The primary purpose of the fundraiser is to raise money for the Centre, with a secondary goal to raise money for an endowment fund to guarantee that the plans we lay today are achievable tomorrow.
An exciting evening featuring a dinner created by the culinary team of Brentwood College in collaboration with the Malahat Nation will be accompanied by traditional entertainment. There will also be a live and silent auction showcasing some of the best in aboriginal art and craftsmanship today.
The creation of the Malahat Cultural Resource Centre will be part of “the Malahat Way’, a path developed by the community to facilitate change and protect, sustain, and grow the Malahat Nation.
The Centre is envisioned as a cultural and learning resource. It will provide a community hub grounded in history, heritage, and families. These Malahat principles need to be woven throughout the nation’s social fabric to be successful and independent.
The Centre will help take care of the community’s educational needs, which are critically important for the future of the Nation. The building will create the space needed to share, validate and reinforce the fundamentals of Malahat values including integrity, practices, beliefs, principles, and action.
Anyone who wants to learn more about the Malahat Nation, meet the community and its leadership, and support the learning success of Malahat children and youth should attend.
