Alex motions to be lifted to my lap, and I happily accommodate him…he says a couple muffled words that seem to mean something to him because he motions with his hands and draws the last word out to make his point…I miss their meaning but acknowledge with an equally animated “Really!”  He kicks his legs and shifts on my lap…he is a busy little soul and I am inspired by his resilience and purpose…he is becoming quite the unique and charming little man.  Then he leans in and looks up to me as if waiting for something…I smile and kiss the top of his forehead…and then he is down off my lap and on to something else, telling me the whole while as he exits the room.  Throughout the day he comes back to my lap for these simple but important visits…a quick story from my son and a kiss from dad…it’s a wonderful feeling and exchange, and I am pleased, happy and content.
