BC Métis Federation Partners with OneFeather for Electronic Voting For Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting – September 24, 2016 Terrace, BC
June 13, 2016, Vancouver, BC – The BC Métis Federation is pleased to announce that the election of their Board of Directors, on September 24, 2016 in Terrace BC, will be selected entirely through electronic voting, in an effort to increase participation by members in the selection of the leaders who represent their interests.
The BC Metis Federation was formed in 2011 with values such as participatory democracy to advocate for the rights and recognition of Metis rights. At a time when Metis are finally being acknowledged as indigenous peoples of Canada by the highest Court in the land through the Daniels case; the leadership understands the need to be inclusive and is proud to bring forward an innovative solution to connect with the provincial membership.
