I made some life changes today…actually, truth be told I made them few days ago…today the impact of that resolve came to fruition.  Funny thing about ‘change’ and me…I am never afraid to facilitate change when there’s purpose no matter the scale or scope – though it’s never taken lightly and always long considered.  The fear of change I fully understand can be intensely anxiety provoking, fill us with self-doubt and even magnify guilt…sometimes even leading to complete paralysis, resulting in even more harm by ‘taking no action at all’.  The trick I think, if I can be so bold and offer my own perspective for what its worth, is to be the architect of the terms and conditions of change…and never the sufferer of change.  Life I have come to understand, when permitted and invited – no matter your position in it, has a way of opening new doors and when others close behind us…a life force really that prescribes the action of closing one door with a reaction of one or more new doors opening.  Caution though…change should not ever be taken lightly because these doorways are oft one-way passages and it’s impossible to retreat back across a threshold you’ve crossed to undo change…like time it can’t ever be truly undone.  Still, the fine point – the tipping point of favour – falls to those who are choosing to close and open those doors…to those who would have the courage to facilitate change and the boldness to step through those doors…on their own terms across thresholds with purpose and intent, and well prepared for what’s on the other side.

About Lawrence Lewis

I do a number of things professionally...but most of all and the true purpose of what I do through "my work" is to provide for my family, be a good husband and great father, and try to make a difference as a world citizen...I guess it's not much more complicated than that 🙂
