It’s told that the embers that rise from a sacred ceremonial burning represent the gathering of all the souls that have come to visit…and that while each ember burns bright that visiting soul is present to bare witness to the event, and then slips away back to the other side as the glow fades and then extinguishes. Today I saw thousands of souls feast and make their presence known…today a wrong was made right, and calm replaced troubled hearts and spirit…today a community found a way to embrace the sacred and their ancestors danced joyously from the fire.
